  • GALILEO — GALILEO is an online library portal to authoritative, subscription-only information that isn’t available through free search engines or Web directories. All of these are also listed in our list of databases. GALILEO stands for GeorgiA LIbrary LEarning Online, an initiative of the Board of Regents of the University System of Georgia.

  • GALILEO Advanced Search — Use this to access the GALILEO advanced search across multiple databases. If you are off campus, the advanced search must be accessed here instead of with the basic GALILEO link.

  • Garden, Landscape & Horticulture Index (EBSCO) — Provides citations to articles about gardens and plants, including topics such as horticulture, botany, garden and landscape design & history, ecology, plant and garden conservation, garden management, and horticultural therapy. A highlight of the database is its focus on environmentally sustainable horticultural and design practices.

  • Georgia Census Data Map — Provides access to the U.S. Census Bureau's State and County Quick Facts data. Broken into three sections: People Quick Facts, Business Quick Facts, and Geography Quick Facts, the site offers a break down of some of the key statistics associated with Georgia. Data can be limited to a specific county of city.

  • Georgia Historic Newspapers — The Georgia Historic Newspapers Archive is a project of the Digital Library of Georgia (DLG), a part of Georgia’s Virtual Library GALILEO and is based at the University of Georgia Libraries. Since 2007, the DLG has partnered with universities, archives, public libraries, historical societies, museums, and other cultural heritage institutions to digitize historical newspapers from around the state. The archive is free and open for public use and includes over one million Georgia newspaper pages between 1786 and 1986.

  • GeorgiaNet - Corporate Search — Records of Georgia Secretary of State. Lists all organizations or individuals licensed for business by the Georgia Secretary of State.

  • Google Scholar — Google Scholar is a special version of Google specially designed for searching scholarly literature. It covers peer-reviewed papers, theses, books, preprints, abstracts and technical reports from all broad areas of research.

  • Grants to Individuals — Provides access to accurate, up-to-date information on foundations that fund educational support, scholarships, fellowships, loans, and internships, students and graduates of specific schools.

  • GreenFILE (EBSCO) — GreenFILE covers scholarly and general interest titles, as well as government documents and reports. The database contains nearly 300,000 records, full text for a few selected titles and searchable cited references for more than 200 titles. Topics covered include global climate change, green building, pollution, sustainable agriculture, renewable energy, recycling, and more.
